"I write for The Mighty because I find writing for me to be the best therapeutic tool that I have. I also find that if I'm thinking about something..."

"I could pick the story that has the most “likes” or “comments” but my story about what Céline Dion means to me has to be my favorite. Anyone who knows me knows how big a part of my life she and her music are. People often dismiss fandom as something frivolous and meaningless. As a trauma survivor, my connection to Céline has been an integral part of both my survival and my healing journey that cannot be overestimated."

Fun facts about Monika:

"My entire wardrobe consists of Céline Dion hoodies. I think I own like 15. I have about 20 stuffed sloths, most of which were gifts from friends. My bedroom looks like a Costa Rican jungle."

Monika says:

"What I want others with similar conditions like me to know is that you will heal. It just takes a lot of time and hard work. You are not a burden. You are worthy. You matter, and you have a community to support you in The Mighty."
